Superbills, Sliding Scales, and OON: Understanding Therapy Payment Options

Therapy is a powerful investment in your mental health, but understanding how to pay for it can be confusing. If you've ever been unsure what "OON" or "superbill" means, you're not alone.

What Does "OON" Mean?

OON stands for out-of-network. This means I don’t bill your insurance company directly, but you may still be eligible for reimbursement depending on your benefits.

What is a Superbill?

A superbill is a detailed invoice that you receive from me after your session. You can submit it to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Each superbill includes:

• My provider information

• The CPT (service) codes

• Your diagnosis code (if applicable)

• Session dates and fees

Many clients receive a portion of the session fee reimbursed within a few weeks, depending on their plan.

Do You Offer Sliding Scale?
